  Mission Statment

Welcome to the Branch County Commission on Aging. We were created by a resolution of the Branch County Board of Commissioners in 1974. We have been housed at the H. & C. Burnside Senior Center since 2002. We aim to provide services, activities and programming for Branch County residents aged 50 and older.

The building is easily accessible for all older adults with its one floor design. The open atrium reflects a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you will be greeted by one of the many volunteers. The greeter is ready to answer questions, direct you to a class or assist you with program information. The north wing (Activity Wing) hosts most of the programs and includes pool tables, a library, the Craft Room, Wood Shop and Exercise Room. In the south wing you will find the Grahl Room where lectures and meetings are held as well as most of the staff offices. Pines Senior Respite Services, an adult day program for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia, is also located in this wing. The east wing holds the Computer Lab, Clinic, and Dining Area. Parking is available in both the front and back of the building.

The Center is designed for older adults, and they are encouraged to come and spend time visiting, learning, volunteering and just enjoying themselves as they share their day with friends. There is no enrollment fee for the Center.

The building is open 8AM - 4:30PM - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The building is closed on weekends and during recognized holiday times.

A Four month calendar of scheduled activities is run in the Shopper's Guide three times a year. Other marketing events can be found in the Daily Reporter newspaper, on the radio and cable TV, as well as in the reception area at the center.
